Aside from the provision of food and coffee, the kiosk has grown into a local hang out, meeting point and destination in itself. It is robust and uncompromising in its resilience to an unforgiving environment, yet sensitively sited to respect it place within its coastal setting. By utilising the humble sheet pile as the Container for the foundation of the project, the kiosk is restrained in its materiality and is paired back to its essence.
The project was selected for the fifth edition of the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards.
