Trento-based architecture studio Weber + Winterle has recently completed the new Nardelli Sport store, in Mezzolombardo, Italy. Integrated in a former residential block, the volume is strategically located in the entrance of the city, emerging in height from the adjacent buildings.
The intervention seeks to enhance the structure as a landmark, a symbolic element that marks the entrance to the city, while simultaneously adding to the commercial character of the area. "The project," explain the architects, "is inspired by the mountains and natural surrounding directly linked to the store's business of sporting goods."
