The exhibit, curated by Hiroshi Naito, seeks to interpret this tremendous hardship, returning to the roots of traditional Japanes objects and crafts. The exhibition theme — "Simple Vision" — encompasses the idea of redefining established design rules to interpret them with a new spirit that is open to different cultures.
The projects on display, not yet in production, are the combined effort of Japanese crafts experience, the support of the companies that funded the project and collaboration with internationally renowned designers such as Nacho Carbonell, Paul Cocksedge, Inga Sempè, Yeongkyu Yoo, Peter Marigold and Jasper Morrison.
On display are functional objects from everyday life that create a dialogue between intriguing cultural citations and new interpretative languages.
