The lacquered aluminum collection includes a chair, an easy chair, stool, armchair, sofa — all equipped with a removable white cushion — and several tables.
According to Driade, the use of aluminum figuratively "reconnects to the cast-iron that, from the mid-nineteenth century, populated European gardens with seating of very special configuration. They stiffed nature geometrically." After this tradition, Ludovica and Roberto Palomba have decorated the backs of the Sunrise collection chairs and sofas with a stylized "rising sun".
"The decoration of chairs with a palm leaf motif recalls the colonial iconography, much in vogue in France and Great Britain in the nineteenth century," say Ludovica and Roberto Palomba. "The sunlight casts the decoration of the table on the floor, emphasizing the interplay of shapes and thicknesses. Sunrise is a timeless collection, capable of capturing distant times and exotic charms."
