The prize rules, which have been well-established since the 19th edition, call for a short-list selection made ??by the Permanent Design Observatory made up of industry experts who monitor the situation in Italian design. The results are included in the ADI Design Index annual volumes. The international jury appointed by ADI makes their choices only from among the projects published in the Index.

Presided over by Arturo Dell'Acqua Bellavitis (Italy) and including Chantal Clavier Hamaide (France), Umberto Croppi (Italy), Guto Indio Da Costa (Brazil), Pierre Keller (Switzerland), Cecilie Manz (Denmark), Clive Roux (USA) and Shiling Zheng (China), this year's jury awarded 19 product prizes, 9 career awards, 3 international awards and 1 special award presented directly by the ADI Executive Committee.
