Venini's 90th at Palazzo Bagatti Valsecchi

Classics and icons alongside new pieces by Campana, Studio Job, Babled and Studio Isola to celebrate the company's 90th anniversary.

Venini celebrates its 90th anniversary with a delightful exhibition in Palazzo Bagatti Valsecchi that flanks some of its best-known works – by names ranging from Tapio Wirkkala to Alessandro Mendini (given a whole room), Carlo Scarpa and Ettore Sottsass – with a new collection of lamps and objects.

Popping up among the paintings, sculptures and wooden furnishings, armour, ceramics and glassware of the Milanese museum's Renaissance collection are brightly coloured pop pieces by Studio Job, glassware broken and reassembled by the Campana brothers, a glass and marble lamp-sculpture by Emmanuel Babled and a long ceiling chandelier by Studio Isola. The best way possible to continue the longstanding tradition of a company that has always combined the skill of Murano glass-blowers with contemporary art. ES
