In addition to projects and research, Fuorisalone has been built over the years by major popular images: a location, a recurring event, some “expected” contribution that most people around the city will invariably come across. The installation invasion of Filarete’s renaissance courtyards, formerly the Sforzas’ hospital, now a university, is one of them: it is back again this year, with CrossVisions Interni 70, and the performative note added by the concomitance with graduation days seems to evoke the sense of big bottom-up party which characterized a certain era of Fuorisalone. A layered backdrop evoking different memories and new reflections for different visitors, and installations such as Mad Architects' misty pool of water for Amazon at Cortile della Farmacia develop on this landscape, together with Piero Lissoni for Sanlorenzo, Patricia Urquiola's totem pole for Cimento, Kengo Kuma’s marbles and quartzes for Quarella, Wu-bin’s “noisy” labyrinth for Yardcom, and, in the Aula Magna, Mario Cucinella's model for the Italian pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka.
