After the great attention paid to the installation that accompanied the launch of Miss Dior, the first chapter in the new all-transalpine partnership between Philip Starck and the Paris fashion house on Avenue Montagine, this year's Fuorisalone features a spectacular encore at Palazzo Citterio in the Brera district.  

After revisiting the Medallion Chair, Starck designs a new chair, Monsieur Dior, a direct homage to the great couturier, in which craftsmanship, industrial engineering and savoir-faire are combined. Dior presents it in a setting that is probably unparalleled in this Fuorisalone 2023 for the so successful relationship between location, product and storytelling.

In the basement of the building, a monumental screen wraps around the famous central pillar, part of James Stirling's 1980s project that was never completed. As in a merry-go-round that turns into a most elegant dance, in a movement synchronized with the video that appears on the display, dozens of "Miss Dior" and "Monsieur Dior" chairs swirl in the space, twirling as they rise and fall. The double flight of stairs acts as a cue for visitors, along with an opening in the upper wall that acts as a kind of contemporary box.

A smaller, more conventional exhibit is set up on the opposite side of the screen, which can be visited before regaining the ground floor and daylight. After viewing the installation, you can stop at the small tables in the Palazzo's garden, which borders the Brera Botanical Garden.
