Connecting Experiences is the project born from the consolidated collaboration between Michele De Lucchi and Poltrona Frau. The last two years of research by the 2018 guest editor of Domus revolve around the possible futures and relationship between human being and technology. The recent research project Earth Station, which investigates the evolution of lifestyles in a future where the advent of artificial intelligence relieves man of bureaucratic tasks and opens up new scenarios and fields of action in the project, influences the installation in Via Manzoni 30 in the historic headquarters of the Poltrona Frau showroom. According to De Lucchi, today it is no longer enough to think of an object or a product individually, it is necessary to reflect deeply and push towards the imagination of new possible futures space, positive rather than dystopian, where technology, nature and symbol work synergistically.
For the 2018 guest editor of Domus, understanding this decisive moment in time means pushing interior design and architecture to speculate on the relationship between technology and design, and that is the direction in which Connecting Experience is heading. The areas designed by De Lucchi in fact go far beyond the program of a common showroom and include: a co-working, a workshop area, a study room, a relax area and finally an exhibition area with the project Earth Stations, also present in the main courtyard with a maquette in scale.

The attempt is to use historical pieces of Poltrona Frau such as the ChesterOne sofa of 1912, the super comfortable Let it Be by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba and GranTorino by Jean-Marie Massaud, and the new one such as the Fred desk and the Ginger chair in handmade leather, designed by Roberto Lazzeroni; the Trust customizable office system, by Lievore-Altherr-Park in order to interpret a historic Milanese building showing a configuration of the interior of a station.
