With the title “Mind the Gap” – the expression that appeared for the first time in 1969 in London’s underground – the Milano Design Film Festival opened its doors today. Among the new features, the quality mark that is Alice Rawsthorn, the design critic who is guest curator this year and who has selected nine films – mostly classics – that well explain what design is, according to her.

The MDFF launches the Architecture Film Award, in partnership with Ordine degli Architetti, rewarding those films dedicated to interior design, architecture, the city and landscape. Finally, the brand new “Bloom” section curated by botanist and writer Antonio Perazzi, features shorts and feature films dedicated to sustainability and the relationship between man and nature.

Special guests invited for talks and lectures include Peter Greenaway, Michele De Lucchi, Italo Rota, Cino Zucchi, Mario Botta, Francesca Molteni, Beppe Finessi, Rolf Fehlbaum and Alessandro Guerriero.
