An Indian tea shop downtown Paris

Les Ateliers Tristan & Sagitta designed an Indian tea shop in Paris that measures only 18 square meters. The owners’ goal was to share their native culture of organic tea and asked the French studio to create an intimate space that could tell from the street the nature of the products sold.

The reduced budget led to a selection of white screens that partially obscure the sight and trigger passersby. These were made using laser-cut metal sheets, featuring patterns inspired by the Taj Mahal, and coated in epoxy paint. Through a precise study of perspectives, shadows and lights, the interior is visually connected to the exterior, while tea flowers and palm leaves hang from the ceiling embracing the customer in an exotic feel.
