Change, hope and renewal inspire objects for the “Obama era” designed by students from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). The project pays homage to Chicago, the city where Obama lived before entering the White House as the new President of the United States. In the form of a series of objects that encourage a more responsible and sustainable approach to living, a bit like the politics of Barack Obama, it is an invitation to think of the economic crisis as an opportunity. The Chicago school also presents another two events at the Fuorisalone: “The expanding classroom: new ways to live and learn” in collaboration with the designer Jonathan Olivares (at Danese, Via Canova 34) and “2000 watt living: new ways to conserve and generate energy” (at the Fabbrica del Vapore, Via Procaccini 4).
