As from today the Raymond Loewy Foundation will also have a base in Italy. Ready to share the same spirit and philosophy that animate the ‘sister’ sites in Europe (the first founded in Germany in 1991, financed by British American Tobacco, the other in Switzerland) and in Japan: that of promoting design in its many forms, discovering new talent and explaining to the public the complexity of design in today’s world.
The programme, ambitious and long term, takes shape immediately with its first event. The Italian edition of the “Lucky Strike Junior Design Award” offers a prize worth 30,000 euro to the best graduate design project (it is the best time in life for creating a design project in complete autonomy”, underlines Michael Erlhoff, president of the Foundation at an international level).
The deadline for entering is the end of September and by the end of the year a winner will be selected by the jury, made up of Milena Mussi (head of the new Italian foundation), Franco Bosiso and Alberto Alessi. E.S.
