The mayor of Venice, Paolo Costa recently presented to the president of the Republic the new logo for the city, designed by French graphic designer Mathieu Thibaut (from the Paris studio Cake Design) with the help of Philippe Starck.

It consists of a winged lion – the most representative symbol of Venice – with a proud expression and defined features which incorporates the elements held dear to the Italian lagoon city. It uses the traditional colours, gold and red typical of the Venetian flags.
