Madrid. 100 posters on Covid invade the city center

As part of Madrid Gráfica 2020, the international event dedicated to graphics, a series of posters on the coronavirus is the result of an international call that involved more than 500 graphic designers.

The poster is almost dead as an object of communication but continues to be the form and support with which graphic designers enjoy themselves, have their say, express themselves. And then the posters, in their physical version, are cheap and in times of narrowness it is a point in favour – narrowness that does not depend on the crisis triggered by the coronavirus pandemic but has roots at least twenty years ago.
This call for posters has been very successful, because it responds to a need to reflect on what is happening and to communicate it. 572 authors from 45 different nationalities presented their different visions and approaches to the pandemic and its graphic representation with encouraging, critical, civic responsibility but also humorous messages. Not surprisingly, the great Latin American participation, with which Dimad maintains close relations, is dedicated to a specific exhibition at the Casa de América in November.
