Hiroshi Sugimoto. End of Time

The Tokyo museum has collected for the first time all the photographs of Hiroshi Sugimoto, the Japanese artist who has photographed seascapes, museums, theatres, architecture and abstract forms since the early Seventies. His most recent experiments combine photography, architecture and the traditional Japanese form of theatre, Noh.

Sugimoto will also preview his new project: “Colours of Shadow”, a series of images in colour which capture the light of day streaming into his studio. The photography critic, Shimizu Minoru, will explain the technique and work method behind these photographs on November 25th at 7 PM. The conference is titled: “A portrait of an unhappy photographer” E.S.
