At the Palazzo della Ragione, an exhibition which shows the result of the revolutions and world changes on a number of artists from Bergamot from 1960 to 1969. A decade which witnessed painting by Trento Longaretti and Arturo Bonfanti, sculpture and action cinema by Bruno Bozzetto, design by Pio Manzù, architecture by Sergio Invernizzi and Giorgio Zenoni.
“Arte a Bergamo 1960 – 1969” takes a look at the city during the second half of the twentieth century in a project which involves not just the museum but also the city itself with various walks which reveal the architecture of those years (including the historical reconstruction of a sixties shop window in the Coin building, opened in the centre in 1964).
As a result of economic boom, the city underwent extensive modernisation by architects such as Francesco Ginoulhiac, Giuseppe Gambirasio, Vito Sonzogni. Alongside architecture there was also design, which ranged from Bianchi bicycles to pans and wooden utensils and the lightweight lines of a glider. With names such as Pio Manzù, son of the sculptor Giacomo, who worked with Achille Castiglioni on the design of household objects and who made his name designing cars with pioneering concepts such as the Autobianchi coupe and the utilitarian Fiat 127.
