Polish studio mode:lina architekci transformed a 140 square metres shell into a minimal house for a couple and their dog, using raw materials and gray shades combined with energetic yellow.

“We assume that less is more”. Clients came to mode:lina office with this concept and 140 square meters of interior space, which was meant to be designed taking care of the owners desires and needs.

According to this expectations architects decided to arrange hall space with few smart solutions. At first, they used the space under the stairs. An usually empty place, here is filled with spacious storage and even a small dog house.

Moreover, sliding doors don’t take so much place and their mirror surface enlarges the area visually.

An island into the kitchen area was a desire of the owners, for their quick meals during the week, while a big dining table can be used during their more leisurely weekend pace.

The centre of the house is marked with a white frame, which continues in the livingroom.

The living room space was once again dictated with minimalistic attitude. Television and fireplace are hidden with walls’ dark color, surrounded by the white frame.

Scandinavian design style, clients’ favourite, was reached by materials – raw concrete and wood. It’s suplemented with white and dark grey shades with ubiquitous energetic yellow color.

The bedroom is connected with the wardrobe. Again, raw materials and gray shades are combined with energetic yellow color, similar to the groundfloor.
