Luisa Lambri in Houston

‘I think that photographing a space primarily means registering an idea, a memory, an emotion’. Luisa Lambri, born in Como in 1969 and the recipient of the Leone d’Oro at the 1999 Venice Biennale, has since 1997 been travelling around the world ‘cataloguing’ private houses, museums, schools, courts and palaces.

On show at the Menil Collection are some of her rarer photographs, such as pictures of Neutra’s Strathmore Apartments in Los Angeles and Niemeyer’s Casa das Canoas and Banco Boavista in Rio de Janeiro. On view for the first time are photos of the 1949 house, that Philip Johnson designed for John and Dominique de Menil. E.S.

Until 27.6.2004

With Titano, design meets performance

The Titano aluminium range by Oknoplast continues to stand out thanks to its high-performance and minimalist design — especially when combined with the Lunar Square handle.
