“Antiche città, architettura nuova” - ancient cities, new architecture is the title and theme of the XVI summer workshop of the Laboratorio Internazionale di Progettazione Architettonica e Urbana (LIPAU) at the Politecnico di Milano, set to take place from 8 to 27 July 2002 at the Porta Sant’Agostino site in Bergamo. It is aimed at degree students, graduates and researchers from schools of architecture and engineering both from Italy and abroad.
At the workshop – which includes the second edition of the “Premio Bergamo di Architettura”, for young architects in the field of architecture and urban design, a prize amounting to a total of 3000 Euros – there will also be a series of conferences held by architects and scholars including: Joao Luis Carrilho da Graca, Michele Reginaldi, Luca Molinari, Vittorio Gregotti, Fulvio Irace, Giacinto Dipietrantonio, Angela Vettese, Manuel Aires Mateus, Stefan Vieths, Alberto Ferlenga, Goncalo Sousa Byrne, Jacques Gubler, Franco Purini, Antonio Monestiroli, Michel W. Kagan, Cino Zucchi, Aldo Castellano.
