In its almost 100 years of history, Domus has always closely followed the evolution of the kitchen, and with it that of domestic rituals and customs. Even today, it remains the privileged place through which to observe the transformations of living: an environment in which communication, care, change, sharing and conviviality are integrated. The kitchen is a small universe which, given the wealth of possible occurrences, gives room for a variety of spatial and design interpretations.

To give shape to this trend, Smeg relies on the authority and creativity of the Stefano Boeri Interiors studio, with which it presented the new Isola collection at the Salone del Mobile 2024: induction hobs, with and without integrated hood, and a high-tech suspended hood system with a revolutionary, elegant and luminous design.

The induction hobs, all characterised by elegant rounded edges that define their uniqueness, are available in the semi-flush installed version and in the High version, characterised by an LED light insert that can be activated independently of the hob function. Thanks to this lighting that defines the perimeter of the hob, the glass surface emerges as a protagonist, becoming a central and prominent element in the kitchen. The Alta version hobs are distinguished by their elegant 20 mm frame, available in customisable black, dove grey or satin stainless steel finishes. Unlike induction hobs on the market, which tend to disappear from view, Isola shows itself, taking on a new value. State-of-the-art technologies make the product more efficient and quieter, guaranteeing more accurate temperature control and cooking times up to three times faster than with traditional technologies.

The hob-integrated hoods are also characterised by refined styling and innovative functionality. The extraction can remain active even after the hob is switched off, helping to eliminate the most persistent odours. The ideal combination of the Isola hobs is with the hoods of the same collection, which are equipped with lights with adjustable intensity and an elegant metal touch display for intuitive operation. The collection also includes a suspended light track, which, independent of the extraction function, is designed to be combined with the Isola hob variant with integrated hood.
