The sensory journeys of Pulsar surfaces

The new collection of ceramic surfaces designed by Fiandre Architectural Surfaces suggests a material explosion with great stylistic and emotional appeal.

It is enough to look at the walls of any historic building to find traces of styles and glimpses of past lives. These surfaces are vibrant and charged with memory, at the same time succeeding in providing an architectural identity and a symbolic connection of man with his deepest roots. But can these stimuli and atmospheres be translated in a contemporary way?

The Pulsar collection by Fiandre Architectural Surfaces springs from the desire to offer surfaces with intrinsic ancestral values translated into living elements using the brand’s most advanced technologies, inspiring an emotional architectural experience that goes beyond the mere matter.

Pulsar is designed to respond adequately to the most refined contemporary demands of designers. The surfaces are characterised by a natural look, refined and rich in detail, with earthy and harmonious nuances that can be combined in various ways depending on the nature of the project. Pulsar is available in sizes 120x120, 120x60 and 60x60 cm, with a thickness of 1 cm, and comes in five colours with natural tones – Snow Pulsar, Graphite Pulsar, Gravel Pulsar, Silt Pulsar and Dune Pulsar – and three finishes – Satin, Natural R10B and Structured R10B.

The Fiandre Architectural Surfaces research department paid particular attention to this aspect, developing a wide range with different end results: the Satin finish is smooth and silky to the touch, yet matt, as contemporary trends demand; Natural R10B is textured to the touch, yet without any visual roughness; while Structured plays on textured irregularities that are emphasised by the light, a specific feature that makes it visually ideal for wall coverings.

Fiandre Architectural Surfaces makes the surfaces of the collection from natural raw materials and minerals, combining them without a predetermined pattern to generate a harmonious blend of granules and flakes. Realised with the full bodied technique, the slabs are unique pieces, homogeneous throughout their thickness, compact, resistant, safe and ecological. These characteristics make them perfect for projects with shaped edges and visible thicknesses and allow for surface decorations by subtraction, as if chiselled.

The large Fiandre slabs are also available in the ACTIVE SURFACES® version, to satisfy our well-being and safety needs. Active Surfaces®, in fact, transforms the ceramic slab into an eco-active material with antibacterial and antiviral, anti-pollution, anti-odor and self-cleaning properties certified according to ISO standards.
