In its conception, the door is a very simple element: the opening made in a wall to allow passage from one room to another. Yet the door has ambivalent meanings: it allows entry and at the same time allows exit from a limited space; the door ensures privacy and security and at the same time it is what guarantees freedom and openness. From the 20th century onwards, its function has become much more multifaceted. It is no longer just an element used to divide domestic spaces, but a true furnishing accessory, to be modulated according to one's needs.

Eclisse imagines the door in an original way: not as an element that interrupts the wall, but that makes it uninterrupted and homogeneous, with a single finish that starts from the floor and goes up to the ceiling.

In addition to the doors, Eclisse also associates a whole series of products – walk-in wardrobes, hatches, technical hatches, skirting boards – which make it possible to achieve perfect continuity with the wall and make openings and passages less visible.  A primer coating allows the various products to blend into the environment – whatever its style – by painting them in the desired colours. The camouflage effect is also possible if the walls are covered with wallpaper, which is also applicable to all the products in the Filomuro collection.

The products in the Italian company's catalogue allow not only for plays of colour but also of form and light to enhance the walls. For example, the Eclisse 40 Collection links the rooms with a different solution for each side of the threshold: on one side it presents the classic flush wall, while on the other we find a 40 degree angled splay, which gives depth and frames the door with a refined 3D effect. Eclisse 40 revolutionises the frame concept, highlighting an element that was previously considered only structural and secondary. For this reason, it has been awarded the Red Dot 2020 prize and entered the ADI Design Index selection for the next Compasso d'Oro award.

The Eclisse Delta skirting board picks up on the concept and shapes of the Eclisse 40 Collection – it is minimalist, modern and aesthetically pleasing – and makes it possible to create a single, perfectly coordinated element between the door and skirting board. The skirting board is perfectly compatible with any type of product in the Filomuro range and is very easy to install, as it does not require any preparatory masonry work.
