The S-nziale door collection, produced by Flessya, unites interiors and at the same time separates spaces.
In 1927 Duchamp lived in a small flat on Rue Larrey in Paris, where he decided to set up his studio. To make the space liveable, the artist mounted a single door in a strategic point: between the studio, the living room and the bathroom. The door is hinged between two rooms and if it closes the bathroom it opens the living room, if it closes the living room it opens the bathroom. Wide open and simultaneously closed (depending on the observer's point of view), or ambiguously open, Duchamp's door represents the polysemy of the contemporary concept of limit. In fact, this "work" has been exhibited in several museums and art galleries.
In recent years, the theme of the boundary between interior and exterior and between domestic environments has once again become a much debated issue in architecture. The multifunctionality and fluidity of our homes, enhanced even more by digital innovations, seems to follow Duchamp's vision of a century ago. The Italian company Flessya interprets this trend with the S-nziale collection. This family of glass and aluminium doors has the ability to give unity and at the same time separate spaces. S-nziale responds to everyday dynamism with its lightness and materiality.
The glass and aluminium composition is capable of emphasising the design of any space and generating sophisticated relationships between functions, balancing connection and privacy. Thanks to the different patterns and processes of the glass, S-nziale expresses an elegant, minimalist and detail-oriented design.
S-nziale consists of two collections, Mono and Duo. Mono includes doors made of a single tempered glass, in 8 mm thick monolithic sheet or stratified glass 4+4 mm thick. The openings can be hinged or sliding, concealed or external, in different solutions. The aluminium frame, anodised or painted, has a section of 40x16 mm in all models, and 44x40 mm in the horizontal transoms of sliding doors. A wide variety of finishes are available for the glass: plain, coloured, sandblasted, engraved or digitally printed.
Duo doors feature a pair of tempered glass panes, fixed to an aluminium frame inside the door. As a result, the visible aluminium edge is only 3 mm. The monolithic glass panes are 5 mm thick and can be made transparent, acid-etched or lacquered in various colours. In the case of acid-etched glass, the material is screen-printed on the perimeter to conceal the aluminium substructure. In addition to hinged doors, concealed sliding doors and various types of external sliding doors, a folding version with 2 or 3 leaves is also available.
Functionality and simple lines. The variety of solutions offered by the S-nziale family always provides the right balance of materials and space.
