La Défense in Paris is one of Europe's largest financial districts. Located in the western part of the French capital, the district breaks away from the Parisian architectural style, showing the innovative, technological and contemporary side of the city. Here we don't find narrow alleys and historical architecture, but structures such as the Tour First, the tallest glass and steel skyscraper in France, or the Grande Arche de la Fraternité, a monument that is the modern version of the Arc de Triomphe.

Close to the Grand Arche is the Window project, an excellent example of the redevelopment of an existing office building. The main element of the new intervention is its glass facade, which is realised in collaboration with AGC, the leading flat glass manufacturer in Europe. The impressive front is designed as a glass curtain, with vertical folds of different depths. It consists of three alternating clad sections, which appear to fold. The glass used in the project is produced by AGC: Ipasol and iplus 1.1 are two high-performance solutions ideal for buildings with large windows.

Ipasol is a range of solar controlled magnetron claddings by AGC Interpane, combining neutral aesthetics with excellent energy performance in terms of both solar and heat control. This series is also available in a toughenable version and is designed to give architects maximum freedom to customise complex structures of significant size.

iplus 1.1 is a low emissivity glazing that provides high thermal insulation, with a positive impact on energy savings and living comfort. Low emissivity means that it prevents heat loss, maintaining good thermal insulation and promoteing energy savings. Its characteristics of light transmission (TL = 80%), low reflection (RL = 12%), combined with its neutral shade, ensure that light enters the building.

Leaving a distinctive mark, guaranteeing maximum design freedom and obtaining the best living comfort: all this is guaranteed by AGC with its great variety of solutions.
