May-June

Domus Sri Lanka, May 2015
In this issue of Domus Sri Lanka, we step back in time to the proud history of Sri Lanka as we look at the numerous but unique architectural features of the Anuradhapura kingdom that still remains.

Further the issue includes, the Miu Miu store in Aoyama, Tokyo built by Herzog & de Meuron, which shows how traditional materials can be utilised in innovative ways while the Design for Emergencies Architecture explores the contemporary design practices employed by Shigeru Ban – two articles that explain how ‘thinking-out-of-the-box’ is becoming the preferred inclination of architects.

The perforated tile designed and conceptualized by King & Miranda is yet another example of how a new look is given to a traditional element that has been used for a number of years. All of these reiterate that the know-how of the past and innovation is needed to build and expand the field of architecture.
