India

April

Domus India’s April, issue 28, delves on the question of old and existing architecture in our built landscapes with Project Boject, an attempt to shift the practice from demolition to dismantling.

Similarly in the Oneiric House, artist Sonia Khurana enters an old building, slated for demolition, and reinterprets the built space. We then review three of the five-episode long exhibition celebrating fifty years of Chemould Art Gallery’s existence in Mumbai and literally the journey of contemporary art in India. Lastly, we examine how a recent campus by Delhi-based Raj Rewal Associates develops a language of symbols and images that add a probably unintended appeal to the labyrinth of its spaces.
