Ora-Ïto / Scavolini

The French designer has developed a horizontal kitchen that opens onto the living room, virtually extending it.

Ora-ïto set out to design Foodshelf for Scavolini—working with this type for the first time—by rereading the relationship between kitchen and living room. He wanted to create a kitchen that would be the hub of the home as well as offering aesthetic continuity, with a vision of integration that has altered the customary compositional parameters of functional modules.
Foodshelf changes the relationship between solid and void, most of all by decomposing the low wall-unit doors, being principally conceived for small wall units measuring 16, 30 and 36cm—but also by revising the size of floor units. The handle is a distinctive design detail of this model, specially developed and always the same colour as the door, putting it more on a par with living-room design.
