This article was originally published on Domus 1042, January 2020 Between 1950 and 1980, public playgrounds were a creative theme for many generations of architects who, thanks also to active participation – between inhabitants, teachers, pedagogues – wanted to offer children the best places possible in which to play. The show “The Playground Project”, curated by Gabriela Burkhalter first in Zurich and now at DAM in Frankfurt (until 21.6.2020), invites visitors to discover the ideas and inventions of that period and compare them to today’s reality.
