The spectacle of cinema

MEET, the International Center for Digital Culture that was inaugurated last year with a project by Carlo Ratti, restarts with a programme dedicated to contemporary cinema.

After months of lockdown museums and cinemas are reopening. The MEET International Digital Culture Centre cinema hall, set in the former Cinema Spazio Oberdan, was inaugurated 5 May with the support of Fondazione Cariplo.

In its fully renovated spaces equipped with state-of-the-art technology, this venue is to host an independent contemporary film programme: an ambitious project by Cineteca Milano focusing on European film previews and on original-language film screenings. “MEET’s programme is all contemporary, in the sense that besides series dedicated to single authors, it also sets out to stimulate the market, presenting the latest productions under the heading “Colpo di fulmine” (Love at First Sight), films that might then migrate to other cinemas creating an independent film network” affirms Matteo Pavesi, director of the Cineteca.

A space to meet, open to on-line and on-site dialogue and exchange, through digital experience projects, workshops, masterclasses, learning activities and creative services dedicated to the expressive and cultural potential of digital creativity, stimulating the sense of union and connection between Milan and the world.
