Auction calendar

Unmissable art market appointments in Milan. The modern and contemporary art auction season continues.

The art market is making its timely return in the first half of 2022, once again crowning Milan as a city of art. Italy’s financial capital offers a rich calendar for art collectors big and small. On 9 May, in Via San Marco, Cambi Auction House in collaboration with Fondazione Progetto Arca Onlus, will be holding an auction in favour of the Ukrainian people. Paintings, drawings, photographs and luxury living room furniture will be the lots on offer, providing an excuse for some collecting with the proceeds destined to humanitarian support. On 19 May, the appointment is at Wannenes, the Genoese auction house based in Palazzo Recalcati, Milan, with its much-awaited modern and contemporary art lots.

In the heart of Brera at Palazzo Crivelli, Il Ponte Casa d’Aste hosts an interesting programme in May starting always on the 24th and 25th, with a modern and contemporary art auction with works by artists such as Massimo Campigli, Filippo De Pisis, Tancredi Parmeggiani, Mario Schifano and Giulio Turcato, followed on the 26th by a selection of fabulous jewels including a 16-carat teardrop diamond. An interesting line-up of events during which collectors, busily attending exhibitions and auction rooms, will have the chance to raise their bid paddles in presence or make absentee bids online.
