OnePlus, the Shenzhen-based Chinese company has just upgraded its  OnePlus 7 smartphone, launched in May along with an ultra-premium model, the 7 Pro. Most probably the Pro will also get a new version, in the meanwhile, OnePlus 7T inherits many traits from its full-featured brother. First of all, it's a bit bigger, and features a 6.55" display with a 90 Hz refresh rate, the same smooth technology from the 7 Pro, and a small waterdrop notch. The smartphone relies on an 855+ Snapdragon processor and gets an enhanced charging system, called Warp Charge 30t, and the fresh-new Android 10, with some customization (like the new Gallery app).

But most important the new OnePlus 7T has a new triple camera, which should go smoothly from ultra-wide to telephoto thanks to the in-house made UltraShot intelligent engine which optimized settings for the best shots even in low-light. There's a better macro mode, while night and video mode are now available also on the wide-angle lens. On paper, the camera is overall better than the OnePlus 7 Pro's one. But as every camera in the world, only tests will say how it performs and compares to competitors’ premium handhelds. What's sure is that the shape of the camera itself didn't receive a warm welcoming when it was anticipated on Instagram by OnePlus itself: the company tells about a design “made to remember the circular lenses of analogue cameras”, but the result is surely a bit divisive and certainly disruptive in the minimalist style that OnePlus had shown so far in its approach to design.

The new devices will be available in 2 colours, frosted silver and glazier blue. Official prices will be announced.
