Obsbot Tail is a self-directing AI camera

This commercial grade “auto-director AI camera” can autonomously decide how to follow and frame the subject just right.

Bored by camerawork? No time to learn how to properly frame a picture when shooting a video? No money to hire a professional for shooting your skate park videos? Enter Obsbot Tail, a new robotic camera that leverages the power of AI for subject recognition and continuous tracking, even in a crowd.
As any drone pilot knows, subject tracking in real-time video is an already established technology. What Obsbot Tail does, though, is to package it into a small and relatively inexpensive camera for amateur an prosumers who just need a small A.I. video assistant. The video quality is good but not comparable to that of a DSLR or high-end mirrorless cameras (or even some flagship smartphone). It’s more than enough, though, for the intended purpose of creating video content mostly for sharing it on YouTube or social media platforms.
Obsbot Tail is currently being funded on Kickstarter. To get one when it ships in April you need to pledge at least 489$, while the final retail price will be 719$.
