New corporate museum tells the story of the Italian ceramic district

Iris Ceramica Group’s Historical Museum gathers more than 600 ceramic artefacts, publications and various archive materials, displaying the company’s history to the public.

Iris Ceramica Group’s Historical Museum was inaugurated in Fiorano Modenese to tell the story of the company that produces porcelain stoneware and technical ceramics. The Historical Museum becomes part of the Italian network Museimpresa, an association bringing together and promoting corporate museums and archives. These are an integral and active part of the cultural, design and production history of our country and their task is to tell the meaning of Made in Italy and the excellence that the Belpaese has seen born in different fields such as design, fashion, engines, food...

Specifically, the Historical Museum of Iris Ceramica Group exhibits more than 600 objects including tiles, slabs, special pieces, publications and catalogues to chronologically describe the evolution of the Italian ceramic district and the Modenese company, made up of the work and passion of many people, which today number about 1500. “The Historical Museum is dedicated to all those who have been part of the Group, helping us to carry forward its values and developing its product lines through the years,” explains Federica Minozzi, CEO of Iris Ceramica Group. During the opening days, in addition to the presentation and speeches of some of the main authors and promoters of the initiative, the docufilm Newmuseum(s). Stories of company archives and museum was screened, directed by Francesca Molteni and promoted by Museimpresa.
