Omega has created a watch for a video game. Now you can actually buy it

The bond between James Bond and Omega has by now entered the history of cinema and watchmaking. It all began with GoldenEye in 1995, when Pierce Brosnan stepped into the shoes of Agent 007 for the first time: since then, thanks to the intuition of costume designer Lindy Hemming, Bond has worn an Omega Seamaster in every film of the saga, right up to the twenty-fifth chapter.

Today, moving from the big screen to the world of gaming, the agent introduces a new collector's item. It is called Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph 007 First Light and is the new chronograph presented by the Swiss maison, born inside “007 First Light”, the action-adventure video game developed by IO Interactive in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios and dedicated to the secret agent’s origins, released last May 27.

  Featuring a 316L stainless steel case and a 44 mm dial, the new watch features a black ceramic chronograph bezel decorated with a laser-engraved wave pattern. The chronograph counter ring and the central seconds hand are finished with a PVD Bronze Gold coating, while the pushers are in polished black ceramic. The NATO strap, with black, grey, and beige stripes, is completed by a titanium Seamaster buckle and loops engraved with the words “First Light” and “007”.

It is powered by the self-winding Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 9900, with a 60-hour power reserve, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, which also features the “First Light” logo. With an approximate weight of 134 grams, the watch is protected by a scratch-resistant, domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides, and guarantees water resistance up to 30 bar, or 300 metres of depth.

This is the first chronograph in the Seamaster Diver 300M collection dedicated to Bond and, to the delight of fans, it is already available for purchase. The Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph 007 First Light can be ordered on the official Omega website at a price of 9,200 euros. Each piece is delivered in a customized presentation box, inspired by the case that holds Omega items inside the video game.
