Apple has launched its first subscription service dedicated to creatives

The new Apple Creative Studio bundle offers apps like Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage, all for an attractive monthly price.

Apple consolidated its offering of creative apps for Mac and iPad under a new subscription bundle called Apple Creator Studio. The package includes Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and Pixelmator Pro, plus Motion, Compressor, and MainStage for Mac. The bundle also includes additional "intelligent features" for other Apple creative apps, namely Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and later Freeform for Mac, iPad, and iPhone.

Apple Creator Studio is a natural evolution of Apple's switch to a subscription-based model for its standalone creativity apps. The company is pricing the subscription at $12,99 / €12,99 per month or $129 / €129 with a yearly subscription. That's an extremely good deal considering that the bundle includes all of Apple's major professional creative software, plus the recently acquired Pixelmator Pro, both on the Mac and the iPad.

Apple Creator Studio includes new versions of the apps with new and interesting features based on AI. Final Cut Pro, for example, now has an advanced transcript search function that makes it easy to isolate portions of an interview or a podcast. Logic Pro comes with new sound packs and a powerful AI-based Chord ID functionality that can "analyze complex harmonic content from nearly any recording to automatically populate the chord track in Logic Pro".

Pixelmator Pro, the photo editing software Apple acquired about a year ago, has now been ported to the iPad, and its full versions for both the tablet and the Mac are included in the Creator bundle. On iPad, Pixelmator Pro offers fast and intuitive image editing, leveraging the GPU performance of Apple Silicon. According to Apple, the app is not a mere port of the Mac version, but was rebuilt from scratch and optimized for the iPad's latest hardware and software.

Last but not least, Apple Creator Studio introduces add-on features for the company's Keynote, Pages, and Numbers apps, including a Content Hub where users can find curated, high-quality photos, graphics, and illustrations to use in their projects. The subscription also unlocks new premium templates and themes for all three apps.

Apple Creator Studio will be available from January 28th, with a one-month free trial. The student pricing is particularly generous and should be of inspiration for competitors such as Adobe: $2,99 / €2,99 per month, or $29 / €29 with a yearly subscription.
