Designed by pOrtahl, a studio founded in 2020 by Jordi van Staveren and Alain van den Donk with the mission to innovate watch design, Zenmaster is a wristwatch with a distinctive feature: no two pieces are alike.

This is made possible by the development of a mathematical algorithm inspired by a geometric principle known as “Truchet tiles,” devised by Abbé Sébastien Truchet in 1704, and by the flowing lines of Japanese zen gardens. The result is an endless variety of dial patterns, making each watch as unique as a fingerprint.

The case is made of durable 316L surgical-grade stainless steel, with a matte silver sandblasted finish and brushed sides. It has a diameter of 40.5 mm and an overall thickness of 10.2 mm, making it slim and comfortable to wear. It features scratch-resistant coating, is water-resistant up to 100 meters, and is powered by a Japanese Miyota 9015 movement.

In a field where personalization is often associated with luxury craftsmanship, Zenmaster introduces a new paradigm: each piece is one-of-a-kind, yet produced through an industrial process. This fusion of technology, design, and mass production marks a significant evolution in contemporary watchmaking, making customization no longer a luxury, but an accessible choice.
