The prestigious Sony World Photography Awards, established by Creo and Sony under the direction of the World Photography Organisation, has unveiled the winners of the 2025 National & Regional Awards. Now in its twelfth edition, the competition supports emerging talents from around the world, highlighting their artistic vision and providing them with international recognition and visibility. This year saw remarkable participation, with over 419,000 images submitted from more than 200 countries and territories.
The winners, selected from the best images in the Open competition, will receive Sony digital equipment and will have the honor of seeing their work exhibited at the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition, held at Somerset House in London from April 17 to May 5, 2025, alongside the overall winners in the Student, Youth, Open, and Professional categories.
From the portraits of artist and photographer Nsikanabasi Effiong, recipient of the Nigerian National Award, to the wrestlers of the "Chilia" hill on the Greece-Bulgaria border captured by Panagiotis Rontos, we have gathered some of the winning images.
