Nendo's non-deflating soccer ball assembles like a puzzle

My Football Kit ball has no need to be inflated: made of 54 individual pieces and inspired by the Japanese bamboo ball, the system strives for a more inclusive sport.

In an attempt to make football more accessible and inclusive, Nendo designed for Molten a non-deflating soccer ball, which can be assembled like a puzzle. The idea is especially intended for the poorest communities, who often have difficulty obtaining a proper ball and maintaining it in good condition, also considering the lack of air pumps.

Inspired by the Japanese woven bamboo ball, My Football Kit is made of three types of components and a total of 54 pieces, which can be easily assembled and replaced in case of damage. The ball by the studio led by Oki Sato is safe and bouncy thanks to the resilience of external materials – recycled polypropylene and a synthetic elastomeric resin – which replace the internal air pressure of traditional balls.

My Football Kit, available in a variety of colour combinations, comes with an illustrated book explaining the assembly process in an easy way for children.
