Ventura Projects at Fuorisalone 2020: new talents at Base

Also this year Ventura Future will talk about innovation with the talents of design academies. Ventura Centrale will stage performances on creative processes at Magazzini Raccordati.

Also this year a double creative soul for “Ventura Projects” at Fuorisalone, led by Margriet Vollenberg and her right arm in Italy, Fulvia Ramogida. If on one hand, with Ventura Future, the language of innovation is spoken thanks to the scouting of new talents discovered in design academies, on the other hand, in the 16 spaces of Magazzini Raccordati, underpasses of the Central Station, the focus is on the “design show”: performances that are not limited to interpreting the product, but tell the philosophy of the creative process.

The scouting, we were saying, will happen in the Tortona district, at Base, in the 3,500 sqm of the Ex Ansaldo exhibition. In 2020 Ventura Future will select the “promises” in design schools from new entry academies such as the Columbia College Chicago (USA), Manchester School of Arts (Great Britain), New Academy of Fine Arts (Italy) and the Technológico de Monterrey (Mexico).

Sustainability, research on materials and bio-innovation will be the main theme of the exhibitions. Curated by Ventura Projects, the exhibition “Hello Humanity: Dutch Design for a holistic world” will present seven designers from the Netherlands, united by a design approach that starts from the analysis of emotions, inequalities and illnesses.

Base presents Stella Orsini’s Off/Lab: a physical and mental space of “decompression”, an experience of isolation from the excess of input desired by a company that teaches us to be multitasking. The 16 warehouses of the Central Station will be the stage for spectacular installations in 2020. For Chiquita, Dominic Wilcox proposes interactive workshops on the theme of “simplicity, practicality and naturalness”.

Designer Kunaal Kyhaan Seolekar invites visitors to learn about Indian mythology in his immersive installation “Rytuals”, the "Studio Italia Design” will present “La Piazza”, a project by Luca Nichetto: a concert of sparkling lights that illuminate everyday meeting places. And a tribute to Laura de Santillana with “Narcisi fragili” that narrates the precariousness and beauty of human existence, starting from the famous reflection of Virginia Woolf: “I had a moment of great peace. Perhaps this is happiness”.
