The board of directors of Federlegno Arredo Eventi has voted on the decision to postpone the Salone del Mobile from April to June. The event this year will celebrate its sixtieth anniversary. As Supersalone curator Stefano Boeri anticipated, to delay by two months “could facilitate the work without jeopardizing the novelty effect of the products that the companies are developing”.
Salone del Mobile is the world’s biggest and most important furniture fair and anchors the giant Milan Design Week festivities that traditionally take over the city each April. The 2020 event was cancelled due to the pandemic while last year’s fair – scaled back and rebranded Supersalone – was moved to September.
The event is now expected to take place from 7 to 12 June at the Fiera Milano fairground instead of 5 to 10 April.
