Flip Trays

Ruxi Sacalis designed a collection of table trays that easily flip into cutting wooden boards and feature three typical Romanian hardwoods: oak, ash and walnut.

Ruxi Sacalis explores the functionality of cooking trays and the tactile qualities of natural wood textures. Flip trays can be used in multiple ways: as a chopping boards, side and serving dishes or organizing tray, depending which side is used.

The soft rounded shapes come in five sizes and three typical Romanian hardwoods such as oak, ash, walnut. The larger trays have openings at one end in order to flip the trays more easily from one side to another, but also to let you hold it better in your hand when using it as a tray. Flip is produced using CNC technology and hand finishing with mineral oil.
