Using rolling pins as decoration elements, B.L.U.E. Architecture Studio designed a bakery in Beijing, giving a warm and clean touch with wood, brass and white tiles.
The Withwheat bakery, is situated beside a street in southern Taikoo Li, in Sanlitun, Beijing. B.L.U.E. Architecture studio designed a facade made of a full-height glass curtain wall, so people could look at the warm interiors defined by white and solid-wood framework.
To create complexity as well as keep a sense of rhythm, the vertical wooden stripes attached to the ceiling are different in length. A bread showcase is placed in the center, attracting customers and a concrete wall works with old flanks, which are spliced together into the shape of wheat. The counter is composed of old flanks with different thickness, and combined with stainless brass stripes.
