Facebook does not like female nipples and whoever dares showing them on their platform will be censored and his/her account can even be closed unilaterally. Although we are told that such censorship is imposed by machines that obey complicated algorithms, there are also flesh and blood censors – whom Facebook exploits miserably in the Third World with unfairly low salaries – who make sure their network is clean and free of any female nipples.

They have no problem with their content including graphic images of death, violence, destruction, disease, sexism, sexist contents that are degrading for women, allowing the publication of images of children in humilliating conditions as well as adults, of course. On the night of December 19, Luzinterruptus went out in to the street with 400 teats, the kind that are placed on the breast to breastfeed babies, and they left them lighted at the entrance of Facebook’s offices in Madrid. The art collective wanted to represent, before the virtual world’s headquarters, a real scene in a physical space as visited as the Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid. When they finished the deed, they collected all the material and went home, where they now have 400 pieces that are available for any association that may need them.
