Time is time

In the spectacular installation by DGT studio, 120,000 suspended watch-plates represent the Japanese brand’s exploration into the concept of time. #MDW2016

Citizen, a high-end Japanese watch brand, takes part for the second time in Milan Design Week with a dramatic installation created by French studio DGT using 120,000 watch-plates, that form the structural base and support for all the watch components.

Citizen: Time is Time

The project is based on the idea that time can be shared with anyone and was launched this year with extensive research into time around the concept of “time is time”.
The installation aims to seek out the link that exists between time and space, the earth, still life, human-beings, life, society and people. Time is represented by the rhythm of the mechanical and electronic movements in this majestic and scintillating space.

Citizen: Time is Time

In almost a century of history, the Japanese company, founded in 1918, has never stopped exploring the new potential of watches thanks to the most innovative technology, creating unique models. 18 wrist watches are also displayed in the space that successfully express Citizen’s design philosophy: “to be the starting point for new technology”.
