The layout of the stand features new shades for signature classics and design icons mixed with new products, shifting harmoniously from painstaking particulars to elegant, unexpected environments, from essential displays to the most provocative settings.

Beyond the central zone containing the dynamic 04 Counter from the Tools for Life Collection designed by OMA in 2013, the gaze immediately focuses on the new creations for 2015: first the Pilot Chair by Barber&Osgerby, a rigorous and versatile piece that adds new facets to round out the Knoll collections, with a unique variety of coverings and versions. Then, to the right, visitors will encounter the more materic but equally precious Bertoia seats, in a range of colors.
From an airy space where the protagonist is the outdoor collection designed by Richard Schultz in 1966, now available in black, one passes to a more classical zone with Florence Knoll sofas in natural tones, and armchairs by Mies van der Rohe covered in fine leather. Another living area combines the Bastiano sofa by Tobia Scarpa with a composition of sofas by Barber&Osgerby and the reissued Pollock Chair, all the way to the timeless Saarinen table accompanied by the Conference Chairs and some icons from the Bertoia Collection like the Bird, Asymmetric and Diamond Chairs.

The floor based on Monotype #75 drawn by Harry Bertoia in the 1970s on rice paper is truly unique, where the forms of the pattern indicate the boundaries of each setting. A clear reference to the dual collaboration between Knoll and OMA, which this year has also created the FuoriSalone installation “Celebrate Harry Bertoia” for the centennial of the birth of the artist.

“Our space at the Salone demonstrates the innovative spirit of Knoll design through the new creations done this year by Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby, while at the same time celebrating the past and future history of the brand” – says Demetrio Apolloni, President of Knoll Europe.

For Benjamin Pardo, Executive Vice President Design at Knoll, “OMA has designed our booth to underline the contribution of our founders in bringing the benefits of modern design into both residential and office spaces.”
