Belgian architect Karel Verstraeten transforms a discarded construction trailer into an inhabitable space for study, rest and play for a couple and their two sons.

In 2012 the customers bought a discarded construction trailer.
They thought of using it as a place to rest, play and study for them and their two sons, pulling it the back of the garden.
The existing finishings were completely stripped and replaced. Inside, the typical rounded roof shape was repeated on the floor and the entire space was finished in plywood.

The outside is covered with small strips of oak, only interrupted by a large circular opening: a skylight was mounted in the wall to let light in and give a view to the surrounding meadows.

A flexible solution with shelves on different heights was designed for the interior. In this way the trailer can be arranged as a place to sleep as well as a place to study or party.
