Si Studio at the Salone

Young Chilean designers Si Studio present at this year's Salone Satellite, unveiling the Migration lamp and the Hola Vecino! project

During the 2012 Salone del Mobile, young Chilean designers Si Studio will present two new projects at Salone Satellite: Hola Vecino! (Hi Neighbour!), which is a light-hearted take on our increasingly insular lives; and Migration, a new lamp as part of their Origami's Hunter lighting collection.

The Migration lamp is a new addition to the Origami's Hunter collection and takes its inspiration from the migration of birds. The lamp features classic avian origami shapes as light shades, which effectively diffuse light thanks to the use of temperature resistant polyester paper usually used in motor filters.

Hola Vecino! consists of a series of everyday objects that have been cut in half and in which their functions have been reinterpreted. The concept is that you to share them with your neighbour, battling against hermetic ways and adding some humour to your household in the process. The chair from the collection can act as a coat stand or table (depending which section you are using) offering an alternative means of home furnishing.
