Marble matters– exploring Carrara’s legacy
Sixteen young international architects took part in two intensive training days in Carrara, organized by FUM Academy and YACademy, featuring visits to the marble quarries and a design workshop focused on the use of the material.
The Olive table lamp was devised as an illuminated chest, the design of which liberates itself from the formal constrains relating to the use of the bulb. The indirect light source reveals the generous shade of this singularly proportioned light, from which a soft, diffuse atmosphere emanates.
Numéro 111 is a St Etienne-based trio, composed of two designers and an architect working in the fields of furniture design and interior design. Their global, dialogue-based approach isn't limited limited to a single hierarchy or discipline. Through its creations, the studio provokes and offers reflections on usage of objects in our daily lives.
