L'Artisan Electronique by Unfold Studio

Unfold is fascinated by a new movement that is called Personal Fabrication. Personal Fabrication is a trend in which we see a shift from mass produced items to locally, personally produced objects. In this research-project, the designers are working on a project which they call they are combining traditional pottery techniques with new digital media. For L'Artisan Electronique Unfold dived into the open-source DIY 3D-printers. They assembled a printer and adapted it so that it can print clay.

L'Artisan Electronique, Claire Warnier and Dries Verbruggen (Unfold) in cooperation with Tim Knapen, 2010, was proposed at the Saint-Etienne Biennale, in the exhibition "Demain c'est aujourd'hui" curated by Claire Fayolle.
